8-Minute Memoir

Day

January 17, 2018

Day 221: Something you’re proud of. Could be big. Could be small. Could be from today. Could be from years ago. Could be something people know about. Could be a secret. Today I’m proud of this girl’s braids. They aren’t French braids though I’ve been trying. They’re regular braids down the sides with twists in front. When I was little all I wanted were French braids. My mom couldn’t do them so whenever my sister or sister-in-law were around I’d beg for the hairstyle and then leave it in for errr days? Weeks? I’ve inherited my mom’s lack of braiding prowess and I worried about it when I found out I was having a girl. Is that silly? It’s kind of silly. Sometimes I’m proud of silly little things. Write about something you’re proud of for 8 minutes. And if you’re in Provo tomorrow night I’m speaking about writing and creating at the Provo Library for the Writing and Illustrating for Young Readers Conference new year kick-off. Come! All are invited. #8minutememoir #WIFYR
