Day 210: A big birthday. These are young college students vigorously taking notes in a wonderful art history class taught by @janeehwise's son. I was not taking notes but listening and enjoying myself and secretly wondering if anyone thought I was twenty-one. NO ONE THOUGHT THAT. But sometimes I feel like I'm 21 or 28 or 32 and sometimes 39. And now I'm turning 40 and it's a little surreal. Time feels like it's moving so fast. Write about a big birthday, whatever that means to you. Maybe you've never had a big birthday because who cares? Maybe it was the birthday you moved away from home. Maybe it was the year you got your license. The year you turned things around. The year things went downhill. Maybe you're looking forward to a big birthday and you imagine things will become magical at 99. Whatever birthday comes to mind first, write about it for 8 minutes. #8minutememoir *if you're local and you miss Club Omni or the Bay and you're dying to go out dancing (and maybe writing! And maybe Balderdashing!) because you have nothing to do in December, there may or may not be a small celebratory dance party on Wednesday night. If you'd like to come, DM me and I'll send you the details.
