Kids! 8-Minute Memoir

Kids! Day 61: Your Halloween dreams!

October 17, 2017

Kids! Day 61: Your Halloween dreams! What do you want to be for Halloween? If you could be in charge of costumes for your whole family, what would you choose? What if you could decide on a costume for your mail carrier? Your teacher? The lady at the market? What if you could decide on costumes for the president of the United States, the mayor, all the people in your neighborhood? Think how fun it would be if one day every single person dressed up? Draw pictures of your costumed people. 8 minutes. Also, I’m cutting back on kid prompts. I’m not sure they’re useful and I’m wondering if summer prompts are the way to go. My son wants to do another kid memoir night but he also doesn’t want to take time to do the prompts as much as he did in the summer. If your kids do the prompts or you have any feedback, I’d love it. Thanks everyone and happy Tuesday. #8minutememoirkids

I’m a huge fan of all of your prompts. I started the 8 minute memoir myself last year (haven’t kept up, but haven’t lost hope either…still hoping to come to one of your prompt nights). 🙂 I am a big fan of the kid prompts because I am a school teacher and there’s something about the way you word your prompts that gets my little third graders excited about writing. We’re even starting a class blog in the coming days so I vote YES for kid prompts. Even if they are few and far between (like for random holidays or historical events). Thank you for sharing your talent and passion!
